Safety features include automatic braking with low-speed collision mitigation, daytime running lights, three-point safety belts in the front and rear, the LATCH system for child safety seats and automatic safety belt tightening.

Airbags include frontal front seat thorax and pelvic bags for the driver and front passenger, side curtain airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags and a passenger-sensing system for the airbags.

Additional features include a front pedestrian detector, following distance indicator, front cornering headlights, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, back up camera, lane keep assist with lane departure warning and forward collision alert.
